Holocaust comes from a Greek word “holokauston”= sacrifice by fire

Nazis targeted Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the disabled

Nazi= National Socialist German Worker’s Party

“The Final Solution”= term Nazis used to describe the mass murder

11 million people killed in Holocaust

6 million were Jews

2/3 of all European Jews killed

1.1 million children died
